Overview of Filter and Dust Classes
The dust class specifies which types of dust an industrial vacuum cleaner is permitted to safely collect in accordance with DIN EN 60335-2-69.
Suitable for
Max. Permeability
Range of
Application Dust Class L (Light)
Simple and harmless dusts with limit values > 1 mg/m³, such as house dust, plaster, lime, or sand.
Standard cleaning in trades and industry with low risk potential.
Dust Class M (Medium)
Health-hazardous dusts with limit values >= 0.1 mg/m³, such as wood dust, metal dust, paint particles, or plastic dust.
Workshops, carpentry shops, and production facilities where fine dust is generated.
Dust Class H (High):
Carcinogenic, pathogenic, and highly hazardous dusts, such as asbestos, mold, lead, or quartz dust.
Remediation projects, the chemical industry, and applications involving particularly hazardous substances.
GasEx, StaubEx, ACD Explanation
The classification determines in which explosion-protected zone the vacuum cleaner may be used.
Protects against explosions when vacuuming flammable dusts—such as wood or flour—directly within the dust hazard zone.
Protects against explosions in areas where flammable gases or vapors are present in the air.
Vacuums up flammable dusts, but the vacuum cleaner itself remains safely outside the Ex zone.
The selection must strictly comply with your facility’s risk assessment.
