Neue Materialien Fürth GmbH was founded as part of Bavaria's ContiTech-Offensive in 2000. NMF's goal is to act as a research and development centre and to partner with industry to get innovative material applications and processing technologies ready for series production.
NMF is working to develop the Temconex process – a new kind of powder extrusion pressing in which metals (in powder, chip or granulate form) are processed into wires, tubes or beams in a continuous, completely automated process.
Many tests on the pilot systems involved semi-finished products extruded based on aluminium powders. These powders can form explosive mixtures if they are present in a certain ratio to oxygen in the air, and need to be extracted.
This task is handled using a mobile type NA 35-WSP AL Ruwac wet separator. It is regularly used for cleaning the floor around the Temconex system, as well as the system itself. NA series vacuum cleaners first guide the extracted material through a fluid to bind it there, so that the lightweight metal particles are no longer explosive. Contaminants collect in a container, which can be emptied in just a few steps.
The NA 35 can be used in DustEx zone 22. The abbreviation “AL” in the product designation indicates that this process is specifically suited for extracting aluminium dusts. Other versions of the NA 35 are used, for instance, to extract magnesium dusts or hot gases.
