As a specialist in small series production and complex tasks, Drebelow & Jahn GmbH in Wuster Nordseeküste near Cuxhaven manufactures hydraulic controllers that are used worldwide in wind turbines, container cranes, mining equipment, rescue vehicles, and forming technology systems. They process steel and aluminium blocks weighing up to 700 kg using a modern machine fleet, which includes CNC processing systems as well as machines for deburring, grinding and polishing.
Processing the hydraulic blocks produces both chips as well as fine dusts that need to be extracted for health protection reasons. When the company processes aluminium blocks, it also needs to observe explosion protection requirements as well. Drebelow & Jahn was looking for a deduster that could ensure clean and safe production under these requirements.
A Ruwac type DS 64000 M deduster was connected to a milling system that handles block finishing, and produces both chips as well as very fine metal dusts. The system extracts the dusts directly at the point of creation.
The low vacuum pressure of 26 mbar ensures fine particles are reliably extracted and collected in the cartridge filters. Pneumatic cleaning in the return flow delivers the floating dusts retained by the filter into the collection container, which is easy to empty.
