The Probat plants in Emmerich have been developing and manufacturing coffee roasting systems since 1868. Probat's product range includes shop and large-scale roasters, as well as raw coffee storage containers, mills and quality controlling instruments. With a market share of around 70% (export rate 80%), the company is a global leader, and is considered the “hidden champion” of German mechanical engineering.
A prestigious showroom is located in Emmerich, where the company can present the roasting systems in an attractive environment and demonstrate their operation “live” and in person. In conventional coffee roasting houses, the green coffee is transported by means of a pneumatic conveyor system. In the showroom, however, the aim is to be as flexible as possible, so as to combine different silos and machines. Because of this, Probat was looking for the most flexible vacuum conveyor system possible.
A Ruwac DS 1220 industrial vacuum cleaner conveys the green coffee into the silos and then, once the coffee beans have been manually weighed out, transfers them to the selected roasting machine.
As the vacuum cleaner is portable, it can be used anywhere in the showroom, i.e. at any machine. This flexibility also means that the customer can choose whichever coffee he wants to add to the silo and put through the roasting machine.
With its smart black livery, the Ruwac vacuum looks right at home with the other machines in the showroom. In addition, the colour indicates that it is a DustEx vacuum: Organic dusts, after all, are flammable in combination with oxygen in the air. The vacuum cleaner filter has a 99.9% retention rate, corresponding to dust class M as defined in DIN EN 60335.
