[Translate to Englisch:] Ruwac Oldie in Produktionshalle im Waggonwerk in Brühl

34 years of hard work

The Waggonwerk Brühl near Cologne is a subsidiary of the VTG Group, which is the largest private lessor of freight cars. The company owns and operates around 94,000 freight cars, so they need a well-equipped in-house maintenance shop. This includes the Waggonwerk Brühl, which primarily focuses on maintaining, servicing, cleaning and updating tank cars.

Blasting is an important part of maintenance for many cars. The blasting material is collected by the DS4000, a large-scale vacuum cleaner with two motors and a pre-separator.

This is not unusual, nor is the fact that the coarse and extremely hard blasting medium is delivered back to the reservoir, so it can be reused multiple times.

What is unusual is how old the vacuum cleaner is. The Waggonwerk Brühl purchased it in 1986, and has been using it in the blasting booth since that time. As of 2020, this represents 34 years of tough conditions due to the highly abrasive extracted material. After all, the purpose of the blasting media is to remove material. So far, this has not impacted the service life of the DS4000 – Ruwac vacuum cleaners are extremely robust.

Ruwac stands out for its customised, perfectly-tailored solutions.
